We received a beautiful knit blanket, our first blanket of the knit variety. If you remember my very first post on this blog, I mentioned that I was knitting a very similar blanket the same night my water broke. My unfinished project is still sitting in a corner somewhere, gathering dust. It looks like I won't be getting round to it anytime in the near future so I'm really happy that we have one.
Alex also received an (American) football outfit which he will soon enough grow into. I think it's his first football outfit too. We have had all sorts of sports fans trying to convert Alex already. My cousin Paras and friend Nick insist he become a hockey fan, and of course everyone in England is hoping he becomes a huge soccer fan (though it's a toss up between Middlesbrough and Arsenal still) and then there's a couple of SF Giants (baseball) outfits he has hanging in his closet. Oh, and I almost forgot the rugby outfit too!
Last but not least he now owns 3 new books: Curious George's ABCs, Bunny My Honey and Moo, Baa, La, La, La! Bhisma said they were Sarika and Nikhil's personal favorites. Alex seems to love them already.
We've started using the blanket and the books and started our 4 Bs bedtime routine.
Bath
Bottle
Book
Bed
As far as sleep habits are concerned, he is only waking up a couple of times during the night and is much quicker about returning to the land of nod.
He still likes to be swaddled at night and occasionally during his day naps, but he's getting really energetic and will break out of his swaddle if we don't burrito him up tight. Matt says his legs are super strong now and we've both noticed him kicking a lot more.
I have so much to blog about still but I'll end for now with a wonderful video of Alex spitting up. This may be TMI but his burps and farts (or "starts" as we call them--smelly farts) are quite impressive. Sometimes after hearing him I have to double check with Matt to see if it was him or Alex lol. I'm sure it's been Matt a few times but Alex is such an easy scapegoat!
