Ghosts, Goblins, Ghouls, Oh My!

Happy Halloween! I don't know why but it feels strange when trick-or-treating occurs on the weekend. This year we only had 30% the amount of kids we did last year. We had to run out and buy candy halfway through last year. We were under prepared. This year we were over prepared. I did buy candy that I liked (mmm Kit-Kats) in the event that we'd have leftovers. I'm glad I did that.

Our day started off pretty routinely for Sunday.

Football(English not American). Couch. Pajamas.

Daddy gets quite animated when goals are scored.

While he went for his mid-morning nap, Matt and I asked the Grandparents to keep an eye while we ran some quick errands. He slept for over two hours and only woke up 20 minutes after we got back. It was so nice outside that I got to take him for a walk.

We walked to our future home which is a couple of blocks away from my parents house. I don't believe I've mentioned this before but we are halfway through our homebuying process. We're dealing with a short sale properly so unfortunately it's a bit of a lengthy process. Hopefully everything will work out quickly and we'll be moved in before Christmas.

It will be great for Alex to be close to his grandparents too. He'll be able to see them just as much as he does now. And I like that I won't have to load him up in the car for a visit. I can just carry or stroller him on over!

We have some other good news too. Matt's been interviewing the last couple of weeks and got offered a new job. He loves his current company, the product, the people but unfortunately it's in San Francisco. And now knowing we are going to be settling in San Jose, the 120 mile roundtrip daily is becoming less and less appealing. I connected Matt with a recruiter I knew and within 1 week he had completed a series of phone interviews, flown to Toronto and back and received an offer letter. The new company is not necessarily way closer but he'll be able to take the train. He's going to get so many books read. And I know Alex will be happy to have a more energetic daddy.

Back to Halloween. Alex dressed up as a lion a few weeks ago when we took him to the pumpkin patch.

He wore his Halloween t-shirt when I took him to work on Friday. I considered changing him into his costume but he seemed content the way he was. He had such a fun time at my work, I was surprised that he was so giggly for so long. Such a social butterfly.

Grandma (my mom) got very excited and bought him a tiger costume too. He wore that one today. He was extra fun to hug because of all the padding in the tummy area.

After an exhausting evening of greeting all the kids and watching the Giants kick major butt, he went down easy at bedtime.

Mau also had an exhausting day. She found my nursing pillow and slept for hours and hours. Maybe I will hand it down to her when I am done using it.

Can't believe tomorrow is already November! Roll on Thanksgiving!
