Immunizations

Alex was supposed to see the doctor last Wednesday for his 2 month old check up and immunization shots but since his doctor was ill, the appointment was pushed out to Friday.

The car ride to the hospital usually puts him to sleep and I always feel a bit guilty when I have to wake him up for his weigh in

Here's Matt with almost naked baby!

We usually try to schedule the appointments in the middle of his feeding schedule but the doctor is always running way behind and we eventually run into hungry time. We were saving a bottle for him during this appointment though, knowing he'd appreciate a little treat after his shots.

Here he is impatiently waiting for the doctor

His new stats are weight: 9lbs 5.4oz and 21 inches (38 cm) tall.
Getting bigger but still ickle!

I wanted to know his percentiles so I can enter them in the baby book but the chart he is on is not adjusted for preemies so he comes in as 2% for height, 7% for weight and his head is in the 28th percentile lol. It must be his big brain.

Here are some more shots from his check up.

Checking his heartbeat

He got a dose of a couple of medicines. The doctor said he would most likely spit it up but he just yummed it all up!

Here's a clip of him getting his injections.

WARNING!!!! Crying red faced baby in this video :(

After his shots we were able to give him a bottle. He recovered from his shots pretty quick and was all smiles when we left the doctor's office. He's so good!

2 Months Old!

Alex is now the ripe old age of two months (and 3 days)! I was planning to put these 'official' photos up on Friday (when he turned two months) but let's just say I've been somewhat sidetracked.

Alex was very alert and all smiles before I took this photo. As soon as we set him down and arranged all the blocks, he fell asleep.

Here are our latest observations:

-We've noticed a few kinks in Alex's ruler straight hair. Hopefully not taking after my unmanageable waves.

- He loves bath time (and peeing in the tub). The running water seems to be quite soothing.

-He hasn't actually smiled at us in a responsive way but he's testing the muscles out for sure. He is definitely smiling more when he's awake as opposed to the goofy grins he gives us in the middle of the night.

-He hates tummy time but he's not as fussy as we were told he could/would be. He perseveres through it!

-He either laughed or cooed at the doctors office. Cutest noise ever.

-We've moved to a 4 hour eating schedule as opposed to 3. He increased quantity while decreasing frequency which means more sanity for mummy and daddy. He can go back and forth from nursing to the bottle very comfortably. No confusion there!

We have so many photos and videos that we're constantly taking. It's hard to choose which ones to post. They're all so cute!

I'm totally in love with his little squishy, pudgy body. Here he is showing us how strong his little legs are
