We've been busy. Well, Matt's actually been doing all the hard work along with our friend Erik. I've mostly been looking after Mr. Fussypants. Matt's been feeling a little restless lately so he has found a couple of projects to keep him occupied and keep the calories burning. He officially gave notice to the bank last week and has another 2 weeks off now until he starts a new job.
He's changing careers completely and going into tech sales. Sort of similar to what I do. It means some big changes for our little family. The company culture sounds fantastic but the role is in San Francisco and Matt's got an East coast territory, which means working the 6-3 shift. It's an hour commute each way. We aren't sure if this is a good thing or not yet as I did those hours for a couple of years when I was at Interwoven and it was tough. But this schedule does mean avoiding traffic and being able to spend more daylight hours with Alex. Plus no more working weekends or coming home at 7pm! We're going to see how everything pans out for about a month and then possibly consider moving up north if it makes life more convenient. Too much to think about at the present time.
Let's get back to Alex.
A few things we've been up to since the last update.
We went shopping in Palo Alto and stopped by Bloomingdales. Alex got a cute DKNY outfit and a couple of sleeveless rompers. Much needed as it's been quite hot. He liked the trip up there but was unhappy on the way home. And of course we got stuck in traffic when he was at his crankiest. I'm beginning to think that he's truly a homebody.
He just likes to stay home and stare at his Spongebob balloon. It's when he's at his happiest. Well apart from staring at Mommy and Daddy. Though after awhile we get boring because we're not as shiny.
He loves my sister's room. We think it's because there's so many colorful things to look at. Here's Bijal offering him a burrito.
This kid gets so much attention all the time! Here he is hanging out with Grandpa. They always have so much fun together.
Mau's finally started taking some responsibility in looking after him as well. Here she is moving his Spongebob balloon around.
Alex has such pudgy little legs now. They're the cutest!
My cousin Paras stopped by for a visit. He was trying to get Alex to stick his tongue out.
Mau is definitely taking more notice of Alex. She has basically paid no mind to him until this week. Now she's going through a semi-jealousy phase and wants all of Alex's things. Here she is sleeping on his co-sleeper. Naughty! She knows she isn't allowed. She also wants to sit on Alex's blankets only even though she has her own. I've tried to shower her with extra love just in case she thinks we're forgetting about her.
Here's my amazing friend Joanne who travels way too much. We've resorted to more frequent Skype sessions lately but since she's finally in town for more than a few days this week she popped over for a visit.
Stay tuned for more videos and photos of Alex's first Indian party.
