Finally I get to talk about July's visit from my in-laws and their best pals, Pauline and Alan.
Nearly 7 weeks ago Alex got to meet his other set of Grandparents for the very first time.
He had just hit the 4 month mark. It feels like that was only yesterday as he is approaching 6 months very soon. At 4 months, we attempted to feed him rice cereal which he loved instantly.
He was very intrigued in watching me eat and so I figured it was time to experiment.
Yes, I'm still a nutty mom with a camera so here's the official preparation of rice cereal feeding shot. I think my mom was rolling her eyes at me in the background. But new mom's, you know how the smallest thing is such a big deal. I know you do!
Here's my messy little boy! In the beginning more went on his face than in his mouth but eventually he got the hang of it.
Later that night, Grandma Dot finally got to meet Alex. Granddad Bob was sorting some things out at the airport so she got to hold him first.
Alex was not really impressed with the new Granddad at first. Way to make a first impression Alex.
After a proper introduction he seemed semi- okay and at least willing to accept 2 Grandpas.
Skeptical Alex:
Pauline and Alan seemed to have a bit of better luck with him.
Check out Alex's bib. One of Grandma Dot's students (3rd grade?) designed this bib and then gave it to her mom to cross stitch.
While the quartet were here. They did many things with Alex. Here he is ready for
a walk to the library. Sadly, his head has outgrown that hat and it no longer fits.
We had an opportunity to schedule a professional photo session with all the Grandparents.
Sorry Grandma Dot, I know you hate this photo.
Here's Grandma Dot spending some quality time with Alex.
Of course he also had his regular time with Daddy...
and Mommy...
Here's Granddad Bob and Alex. Alex is holding his pacifier here. Something he was just learning how to do.
We gave everyone a break for an evening. Alex and I attended a new Mommy and Me group with a couple of girls I went to high school with and some of their friends. Alex decided to be fussy that evening and unfortunately the pacifier was the only way to quiet him down.
Random yet obligatory Willis shot:
Here's Alex unimpressed with the Robin from Red Robin. Since he had a fussy week during that period, we were a little scared of taking him out to dinner. He was good as gold though and loved being out.
Here's another obligatory photo of everyone with Alex:
Again with the two Grandpas. Still a bit wary about England Grandpa.
I have hundreds of adorable photos but it's so hard to pick the best. Many, many, MANY more photos with everyone. They may crop up in future posts.
So after 3 good, long weeks, Alex really got to know his other grandparents. He had a wonderful time getting so much attention. Grandma Dot and Pauline were in tears when they had to say goodbye. I wish they lived closer.

This is Mau's way of saying good bye to the English folks. "Let me just scratch up your
luggage a bit". Maybe she was pleading for them to stay in her silly May way. She certainly got more attention than normal.
Next year we hope to repay the favor and bring Alex to England for a visit. I can't wait for that day to come!
