Choo Choo!

Well, I'm really excited because I just found out Matt's best friend Richie, who lives in Japan is coming to visit us this weekend. He literally decided at 9pm tonight and is arriving at 9am tomorrow. His girlfriend works for Delta so he can get very good deals on super last minute flights. It's also his 30th birthday tomorrow. It's going to be a fun weekend!

Here are some photos from yesterday and today.

We went to Johnny Rockets for lunch yesterday. The always make smiley faces with their ketchup so like the mature parents that we are, we took the opportunity to take this photo:

Matt wanted to literally put the bowl on Alex's face so his hand and arm wouldn't be in the photo. I had to stop him and lie to him that I would photoshop him out lol. Clearly I didn't. But duh, I barely have time to blink these days.

Here's Alex during one of our car rides. He looks so adorable. It makes me melt!

He absolutely loves car journeys and he's good as gold whenever we are out anywhere.

This morning we decided we'd go visit my mom at work around lunch time. She works next to a really nice park and since it's a lovely day it seemed like a really good place to go for a walk.
So we got Alex all ready to go out.

Without socks

With socks. See how happy socks make him?

I still think they are the most adorable little socks ever.

Since we got to my mom's work early, we decided to pop into my old workplace which is right across the street. I wasn't going to take him inside the company because I felt a bit odd since I kind of work for a competitor but everyone insisted I bring Alex in.

Here he is with Trish. She didn't want to let him go!

And here he is with Demeka. I told her we were going to visit 2 weeks ago and I ended up falling asleep instead. Oops.

I also got to show Alex off to a barista at Starbucks named Christina. The last time I visited that Starbucks was August 2009, literally a couple days after I found out I was pregnant. Not only did Christina remember my name but she also remembered my drink! I was super impressed. I did go quite often when I worked in the neighborhood but still, that's a great customer skill, especially to remember me after 8 months.

After a quick bite to eat and coffee we came home and cuddled for awhile.

Bijal cuddled with Mau.

We talked to Uncle Jamie on Skype and he pointed out that Bijal hardly has any photos with Alex. In fact she has more Mau photos than Alex photos. So, we took a photo for him.

And here's something Grandad (UK) will appreciate. A little name train that I bought a few weeks ago. I had all the letters apart from the L since the store was sold out. I only had to call 4 stores and wait 3 weeks to find it! Oh the crazy things a parent will do. Eventually when he's old enough to play with it I'll get him train tracks and other accessories!

Off to catch a couple hours sleep if I can sneak it in! Until next time...
