Happy Baby

This week has been all about smiles and laughs. In fact as I am typing this, I'm also watching him laugh at a framed picture that hangs on the wall. He absolutely adores the print, even though there's nothing particularly impressive about it. During his follow up ear infection call, I mentioned his fascination with the picture to his doctor. She asked me if by any chance the print was matted with any kind of white background which in fact it does. She said something to do with the space and lines really amuse babies. I find it funny that it's sort of a trend. How did they figure that one out?

It hasn't been easy getting a snapshot of Alex smiling because by the time I have the camera ready he just stops and stares at me with a very blank expression. Sort of like this:

Still, I've managed to sneak some in. His smiles, laughs, giggles and coos make me all warm and fuzzy inside.





Unfortunately we've learned the hard way that sometimes a big goofy grin or laugh is a precursor to large amounts of spit up.
